seek comfort and further overeat, leading to more weight gain and more despair,

because as soon as you stop dieting you revert back to you old eating
habits.
Someone with a weight problem has, over time, programmed their subconscious
to eat in a particular way and when the hunger has been satisfied the
subconscious sends a feeling of satisfaction, so you no longer feel the urge to
eat, it when this feeling is overridden that you need to seek the extra
satisfaction. often this extra urge is to compensate for something
missing in our lives, or it could be just some kind of unhappy
experience.

of the desire and then persuade the subconscious to see that the habit is of no
benefit to you and transfer the over- eating into something that is more
advantageous and beneficial to a healthier lifestyle.
